Values of Blogs

I am a novice (okay, a baby bird with no feathers, that can do little but lift my head for food from another) at this blogging. Had I not been in graduate school and been required for class to create and use a blog, I probably would not have done it. I feel that much of what people post to blogs and other sources is either very unimportant and trivial, or is personal and should be to themselves or very close intimitate associates. But I am also realizing that many things that are posted are very important in learning about those who make the posts and in keeping those who know them informed. Each of my adult children have a blog or blogs, and I have learned much about them that I did not know before. One daughter blogs on beauty and is an expert on perfumes and makeup products. She has a following and it leads to some good business on her Ebay makeup products. Another has a personal blog that helps her share thoughts and feelings with family and friends. She publishes in a hard volume these blogs and they are a superb journal of certain things in her life (conversion of a BYU grad to a Ute fan, neat stuff about her husband and new baby, etc.) Her Tuesdays Truths are eye-opening and good. She also maintains one called WE EAT, dedicated to how we build food into the events we gather for as a family and to the fun stuff we eat. Great recipes and pictures. An I love to here about the newest married daughter and hear the reviews (sone, not all) and thoughts of my smarter-than-me son. I think sometimes about having a blog on Safe Food (I used to train food handlers -- what you don't know WILL hurt you, and cause diarrhea).
May all your blogs and posts be of value and not just empty word.
